Leaving a dock in over winter on Georgian Bay is a gamble. Shifting ice can lift legs, bend frames and pull sections apart, and spring storms finish the job. Fall removal is the simplest way to protect what you paid for.
A removal crew pulls each section, takes out the legs and hardware, and stores everything above the high-water and ice line on your property — usually in one visit.
What’s included
- Section-by-section removal of sectional, pipe and roll-in docks
- Legs, brackets and hardware bagged and labelled
- Storage above the ice line on your property
- A quick condition check so you know what needs fixing before spring
- Boat or PWC lift removal at the same time (if you have one)
When you need it
- You are closing the cottage for the season
- Your dock is on legs or sections, not permanent cribs
- You saw ice damage last spring
- You want spring installation to be fast and simple
How it works
- Tell us about your dock — Type, length and location. Photos help but are not required.
- Get a clear quote — A local crew calls you back with a price and an available date.
- We handle the heavy lifting — Your dock comes out (or goes in) and you get on with your weekend.
What affects the price
Every property is different, so quotes are based on a few things:
- Dock length and number of sections
- Water depth at the end of the dock
- Access to the shoreline (stairs, slopes, lanes)
- Whether a boat lift comes out too
Request a quote and you’ll get a clear price before anything is booked.
Fall dock removal — questions
How late in the fall can a dock be removed?
Crews work until the water gets too cold to work in safely, usually into late October or early November. Booking in September gives you the best choice of dates.
Do I need to be there?
No. Most removals are done while the owner is away. You get a call or text when it is done.
